How can I use the Apple Backup software to backup my iTunes?

My iTunes library is huge, and I have Backup, any suggestions on how to use? I can’t back up to .Mac because of the size. Am I resigned to just using a ton of DVDs? Is there a way to back up now, and then later just back up the stuff that was added?
