The least expensive model that will accomplish this is what I’m looking for. FYI I use a Toshiba laptop with windows xp.
I plan on getting a new internal after backing up on an external. Otherwise how would I transfer the data? It’s a laptop. Not being rude, I seriously don’t know what to do lol

Should every backup software be able to backup hard drive/computer so it can be restored? Or only a few types?

What is necessarry so that if my computer crashes i can restore back to the same exact thing (files and everything) and should every and/or all and/or most backup softwares (whether free or not) be able to do this????
